An short summary of

12 years of slave , selma , django unchained , precious , the help, the butler , 42 , the blindside , lincoln and others

The attack on the modern day black image , in most these films it undermines positive change blacks made themselves and rather portrays helpless underlying blacks in need of a white savior theme. or docile blacks are willing to not only accept a system that continues to treat them unequally but happily in a non violent way create movements which are basically looking for white acceptance or approval . it is flat out ignores black resistance suggesting that it never occurred no Nate Turner or the Haitian revolution with Toussaint and Dessalines. It dis empowers the populace today and highlights powerless it promotes not challenge white supremacy

it creates self hate for future generation would kids want to see themselves as their people represented in children stories like next toy story , frozen or maid in the help or being oppressed in selma.

"This imagery of black women as mammies—overweight, obedient servants who love, nurture, and are loyal to White superiors—is common in American society. It is one of the controlling images that shapes the public face that Whites expect from Black women today."

everything has an “agenda” and a purpose. This was no accident or fluke how or why these movies are being made. whilst the make blacks play slaves their putting white faces as ancient Egyptians exodus reinforcing the narrative that blacks started at slavery and they didn't steal maths , medicine , etc from africa and removing us from our history .

There is abundance of stories of african american experience , yet a director like steve mcqueen gets fund to tell story of a black man who ignored the plight of fellow blacks

Also lack of black sci fi - like transformers or something interesting are not being made in masses

few of cast of 12 years in real life the pictures say it all , don't like these type of movies at all

Agree with you 100%

My issue with this though is why do we expect other people to have our best interest at heart? Why should they make honest films and risk empowering a people they've worked so hard to brainwash?

Whose responsibility is it to make the movies we want to see?

breh do you really think those movies were successful due to black patronage?

12 years....selma...the butler....blind-side are based on true stories....so whats your problem there?

tell you what breh...instead of complaining.....why dont you write a script....and make the type of movie you want to see.....

Beverage Fridge, 3rd Row!!
Agree 100%.

What's worse are the negros that actively shyt on Tyler Perry's, claiming that he glorifies ignorance, but have the nerve to champion the movies that portray blacks as inferior and need whites to save them when we face adversity.

The Bulter, The Help, Precious, 12 Yeas a slave, and Django have garnered massive critical acclaim & numerous academy awards utilizing one underlying motif: black inferiority

Agreed. Django was amazing though :wow:

I feel like the only black movies are the typical black comedies starring every black actor (i.e Top 5), the slavery movie, or the hood tale.
shyt is wack, its time we make movies about other shyt.
But you cant expect whites to make these "other" types of movies for us, they have no interest in doing so - nor should they. :upsetfavre:
