Maybe.

For rap ive been mostly been jamming to some dope Christian rap artists im discovering who's dope to me. It fits where im at in my life now. I dont really care to hear certain topics anymore.

When i do check for "rap rap', its artists ive been listening to for decades (Nas, Ghost, etc.) Same for new releases. Im looking forward to Nas, Big Boi is working on something (ill check out), etc. Great artists ive been listening to since i was a kid. Im 42...I really dont want to ingest negative music REGULARLY anymore.

Most people in my age group Im around do have rap fatigue. I now mostly listen to gospel, christian rap, r and b, soul, jazz, and (occasionally) the rap music i was listening to 30 years ago. I have very little interest outside of some key vets, in new rap music.

I will say hip hop as a culture is a different story, to me thats just in you till you die to an extent.

Im going to check the vids out later.

Mainstream rap has not evolved at all in like 15 years. Compare that with the speed that things changed from 1985 all the way up to 2010 or so
What is anyone visible bringing to the table now that Fewch didn't do better over a decade ago

Not surprised people are sick of it

There’s a certain sound people are tired of. One of those sounds is the generic trap sound that everybody took part in, from the rappers themselves and especially the producers. You had type beat producers making the same sounds as the mainstream, and knockoff type beat producers making the generic versions of already generic sounds. I call it bottle service section music. Down tempo beats that aren’t actually conducive to getting up and active. I’ve most def been tired of that sound but I thankfully ain’t solely been a mainstream listener of music.

The second sound people are tired of is what they consider “prostitution/escort” music. Female rap has always had obvious explicitness, but never as a whole like it has been for a couple years now. There’s a lot of comically vulgar music out there. I mess with Megan, but if you make a song called “Lover Girl”, shouldn’t there actually be some love involved? It just sounds like the average sex related Megan song. But again, I’m not a solely mainstream rap listener. I’ve been eating good for ages :manny:

A big problem has been them pushing these trash female rappers that always flop. All of them have not sold well and underperformed given the budgets they had.. that includes mainstream rappers like meg, cardi city girls and dochie.

Nobody, especially no man, wants to hear women rapping about their coochies. Hiphop was always male dominated for a reason. I got 0 interest in listening to cardi b's last album. I never heard megs last album either, just the singles. The industry bet big on these female rappers and it ain't panned out. Marvel did the same thing and still ain't recovered from all those female superhero movie flops.
