I was in New york last year. And what really surprised me was that there was no Hiphop around. Nowhere to be found (granted I only went to 125st uptown)

My opinion, which is contrary to many people, is that Rap Music is the Big Bracket, and within the Big Bracket of Rap Music, you have (1) Hip Hop which is that hippity hop flow, with BBoys, Graffiti and turntables:snoop:

Beatmaking is MORE complex and creative today...Rap Music has adopted techniques from electronic music and the producers today are better than ever...:mjlol:

but it's easier now to find more music with the internet and all

in fact, there's so much hip hop music now that i have a hard time keepin' up a lot of stuff :yeshrug:

even if you have really gotten bored with the new stuff, there's hundreds, probably thousands of albums from the past you have never heard and that's even counting the mixtape boom in the last decade. i have over 3500 albums in itunes, the vast majority of it is Hip Hop. alot of it i listened to when it dropped, some of it i only heard a couple of songs from that artist before downloading it and some of it i'd never heard of before. Out Of Print albums, rare, hard to find, unreleased shyt that's leaked, mixes of b sides & unreleased material people have put together over the years. just go to discogs or wiki & look up an artists discography & get to downloading. from there if you like it enough then cop the album to show support. maybe you will get into find out where the samples came from & start getting into other kinds of music.

these days there's no risk of running out of music, Hip Hop or otherwise.
