Rap is not down because the lack of billboard entries, Its down because line of progression has been disrupted.

That's not how the billboard works, I hope you know this.

You need money + the machine to chart on the billboard. Nothing more, nothing less. If you dont have those you are wasting your time

Rap hasn't progressed in about 20 years.

And the last decade of that progression, was watered down by politics & commercials. So we really looking at 30 years.

A lot of the promising newer rappers got themselves killed before they could really catapult to the next level.

Also the more accessible it is to make and release music, the quality control has suffered somewhat. Good thing is that radio can’t stuff a wack rapper down our throats now as people have direct access to exactly what they want. Yea it kind of kills the spontaneity of discovering someone “new” but it also filters out being forced to listen to the next Silkk Da Shocker.

We’re not “forced” to listen to the next Silkk Da Shocker, fans are willingly listening to worse Silkk Da Shocker’s :laff: :laff: :laff:Not only did they willingly listen to Ice Spice and Tekashi, they pretended to actually like and support their music

I’ve never not once HAD to listen to an Ice Spice song or a Tekashi song while waiting and praying for a Kendrick song to be next. They might as well not even exist for me or for anyone that doesn’t fukk with their brand of content. I wouldn’t know a Tekashi song to save my own life and i’d have it no other way.
