I think the deeper conversation to be had is how long is Hip Hop/Rap going to have this undisputed position in Black music? Prior to this, Black people were constantly creating new music forms and pushing the boundaries but if I’m honest part of the issue with Rap rn is that an alternative hasn’t come about to spark new innovation.
