The Game LAX Album

Despite favorable reviews by critics and audiences, Game was critical about his album and says: "If I had a choice, I would say fukk L.A.X. and R.E.D. because I was kind of lost in trying to re-find the love for hip-hop[...].

"L.A.X., I was kind of lost, but my fans were pleased"

Rae and company hated at the very least the last Wu projects.

Months after Wu-Tang Clan released its sixth studio album, A Better Tomorrow, Raekwon offered a stern critique of the project. While speaking with NME.com, the Wu-Tang spitter revealed that the album felt “too soft” and “too humble.”

Rae then elaborated on his comments on the album being “too soft” by stating that he wanted to offer fans “some real shyt” on A Better Tomorrow. He explained that in the end, the project was more so tailored to RZA’s liking.

"That album felt kinda bored,” Raekwon said. “And that’s not just my opinion. The music was just too soft. Too humble. I felt like the album could have been better. I voiced my opinion, like, 'Yo, let's give them some real shyt.' The album was driven more to RZA’s expectations. He was coming from one way. We was wanting to try something new."

“One thing I try to stress about this project is, I love and hate this album. I listen to it and I’ll like some of the songs. But when I think about what it took to actually get the record together and everything that I went through on this record—which is something I can’t separate—I hate this album. A lot of the songs that are on the album, I’m kinda neutral to. Not that I don’t like them, or that I hate them, it’s just I know the process that went behind it. I know the sneaky business deal that went down behind this song, or the artist or singer or songwriter who wrote this hook and didn’t want to give me this song in the first place. So when I have that kind of knowledge behind it, I’m just kind of neutral to it like, ‘Another day, another dollar.’ As opposed something like The Cool, which is more of my own blood, sweat, and tears, and my own control. With this record, I’m little bit more neutral as to the love for the record.

that moment you realize all Jay-Z albums are black/white/grey :patrice::francis:

Ad-Rock doesn't listen to the Beastie Boys, Madlib says he doesn't listen to half of his shyt. Aesop Rock says he doesn't know if he'd listen to himself (which actually gave me some respect for him, because I totally agreed. Hail Mary Mallon's > his solo stuff)
