It's weird but I think just the way she carried herself, people treated her like an adult 
like it's her 16th Bbday party and that dude was like the brothas at home think they got a shot now. 
She was very mature for her age compared to these 16 year olds out today, they can barely form a complete sentence.

This video further confirms what @spliz was saying about the rumor back in the day. We didn't really know what to believe. WAs Aaliyah 15 or 18? Were they married or was it a rumor? Thats what the atmosphere was...we really didn't know even tho people like Ed Lover was on Hot 97 saying it was true meanwhile Aaliyah comes out and says its not true.

Yall always say this like everyone looks the same at the same age. There's no "14 year old look" or "18 year old look" or whatever. Two dudes can be 16 and one looks HS age while the other looks like a grown ass man. And demeanor does play a part in it. I always had a mature demeanor so folks thought I was a grown man in HS despite being a short dude.
Yeah, you can tell she hung around older people rather than ppl her age...

If I see an official marriage license and it says 18 years old.....Its kinda hard to dismiss is it as false.

I've said it in threads before; Aaliyah was in the industry from 16 to 22 and in that time people have soooooo much love for her. And it's creepy.
