This is almost the same way King David used to kill bears, lions, and Goliath.
Normally the animals are smart enough not to just stand and stare at a different species approaching them.

i read that our natural advantage was that our muscles dont get tired as quickly as other animals. where a cheetah can sprint like 70 mph, humans can run like 15.. but for longer periods. so the animals would have to stop and rest, but we didnt... so we'd get their ass eventually. apparently its something we evolved to do as hunters after we came down from the trees. its kind of terrifying, because to other animals, we must've seemed like terminator t-1000s following them.

Leave a salt disc out for deer to lick, by day 2 they ain't even worried about you, you could walk up and cut its throat with a knife.
Salt discs are too easy and common so wild life and game wardens spot them easily, but people do the same with apples.
Hell you can do the same with birds and squirrels, not to mention racc00ns. You can accidentally leave a dish of dog food on your back porch and find a racc00n waiting for more.
