I don't think Kendrick has a song as personally deep as Reelishym or the Evil that Men DoRas Kass was never good at making popular songs like Kendrick is. I also think that Kendrick tackles more personal issues/concepts where Ras Kass was bigger picture/more conscious.
Seems he left out the part that he blew the Dr Dre co sign with his drinking.....

Ras was too pro Black for even the white hipster fan base for the most part and not commercial enough.Ras Kass was the kendrick without the white hipsters and cacs on his d1ck.
You'll never hear a white person past, present or future say "I'm not a big fan of rap but I like Ras Kass"
but u hear ppl say that about Kendrick all the time.....before that the go to name would be Eminem

Is being "Eminem" or even a "Kendrick Lamar" about being deep though? These guys are commercial sensations.
Em did come from that niche of super lyrical types like Raz, Chino, Bis ect. But he became a star because he was able find a commercial formula that worked for him and get people invested in his story. He ain't go 10x plat because of lyrical dexterity. Kendrick isn't a necessarily a star because of that either though it's his 'lane'. Kendrick's formula is pretty similar.
I don't see how you hand Ras Kass the ball in either of those situations and get the same results.
Kendrick really isn't a star tho. hes moreso an interchangeable cog in the machine.
Kendrick will at least keep the ball rolling by dropping 1 or 2 lil catchy hits here-n-there. rass kass prolly wouldn't do that.

the dr dre cosign means nothing if its not accompanied by the iovine machine.
