Which of those cities were more friendlier to you?
One of my favorite places on the planet real talk 
You can get around easily without speaking Korean. Taxis are easy to get and cheap, or you can get around on the subway. Their subway system is great and relatively easy to navigate.
Soo many food choices. If you like spicy food, this is the place to be. Chimaek (chicken and beer) spots are everywhere, and I don't care what y'all say, fried chicken in Korea is better than any you'll get in the states.
Soju is the popular alcoholic drink there, its literally cheaper than water and you'll get fukked up off it.
The bars and clubs, at least in the popular areas stay open til like 6 am. I've gone out with some brehs, partied out til 6, went and got breakfast right after the club
Someone mentioned it earlier before the women all go for the same look. You either like their look it or you don't. It's not difficult to get numbers at the clubs if you're American. They'll expect you to take them on a date though. Dating korean girls is a bit of a hassle, they're very superficial, but that's a different topic
Seoul has plenty of cultural stuff as well, great museums and natural areas to walk through and enjoy being outdoors
Air quality in korea overall is shyt, so there is smog somewhat frequently
Bottom line, Seoul has all the good things a big city has, minus the crime, and for a fraction of the price
You can walk around seoul at any time of night and don't have to worry about any riff raff.

I went like 15 years ago and I felt like it wasn't as touristy friendly, was a little hard to get around. After that i went to Taipei which I felt like was a more laid back version of Seoul with better food and friendlier people, very island vibe.
