the rule of thumb is that the plate should go from the bottom of the collarbones to a couple inches above the belly button so the fit isn't THAT bad... what got me tho is it's hard to find sizes that small, like carriers in the 8x10" child soldier size i need didn't even really start to get manufactured until a couple years ago
