Btw... there are a FEW artists who were better vocally, two who have already been mentioned (Stevie, Luther). I would personally put Marvin Gaye and Freddie Mercury above Michael. But that’s good company to be in.
A few others would be Maxwell and Jeffrey Osborne.

Ima give Mike a 10. His vocals as a child were so far beyond his age. I think all the surgeries to his nose really hurt his breath control in his late 30s and 40s. He could still go "Mike" every now and then but during the disco era up through the 80s he was vocally on another level.

INCREDIBLE!!!!

:russ: He was already at least an 8 vocally right here, and the only reason he wasn't a 9 or 10 is because puberty hadn't set in for him to hit low notes yet.

i give mike an 8.

there are quite a few males I have over him, but they’re either gospel singers or rnb vocalists that weren’t very popular.

He had an impressive range for a male in the higher octaves (especially the 5th) and his adlibs and vocal delivery is iconic. His vocal prime was his youth as a prepubescent kid and late teen years

as far as raw vocals ..i have people like kid Brian Wilson Darrel Walls (from the walls group) J Moss, Smokie Norful, Tonnex, Wanye Morris, Rudy Currence, Luther, Stevie and Brian Mcknight over him for having more agility/fluidity, resonance (power) range and overall vocal creativity.. them nikkas just be doing the craziest sh!t with their voices

He loved the c5 note.
The only thing I disagree with is his prime years. I think it’s from Destiny to BAD era. Idk what but something happened during BAD and his voice was never the same.

Because he is one of the greatest singers of all time

And one of the greatest dancers of all time.

If he didnt dance at all he would still be great vocally.

If he only sang ballad he would be great

Or strictly R&B he would be great

He demonstrated the ability to multiple aspects of music far above average, he wasnt gimmick, he adapted when music changed from the 70's to the 80's to the 90'.

What if Mj only did luther style songs

But change it, what if Micheal were to do just rock, you would still get greatness

What if Mike just made dance music

The man had no weaknesses, I didn't even post all the stuff he could do like jazz music songs like "I cant help it".

He voice had no limits

10. MJ is one of the greatest vocalist to ever roam the earth. There's not much that he couldn't do, and at an Elite level vocally. Where I think he gets knocked with many people is that he didn't "over sing," he didn't do runs for half of the songs. Being a life long MJ Stan, I've heard plenty of demos, outtakes, etc to place him at 10. I ain't putting none of them nikkaz over MJ.
