It's been nearly 10 years since we've all graduated. It's funny how after graduation everyone says they're gonna be friends for life. But like 1-2 years later everyone slowly/sometimes abrubtly start to drift apart. Life pulls you in different directions and sometimes you outgrow people. I ran into my BEST friend from HS...we kinda had a falling out over something petty. I called her and she rushed me off the phone. At the time I was 18 or 19 so I blocked her number and never called her again. In hindsight it was stupid and I felt bad years later. Ran into her the other day and she's working at the Apple store and we exchange fake pleasantries. Exchange numbers but nothing comes out of it. Kinda regret even approaching her...

I mean, I only graduated HS last year but I only keep in touch with two friends, everyone else I fukked with was just because of proximity

you had your chance in high school but clearly it did not work out. funny thing is , when we were in high school, we thought that high school life or high school attitude would carry on for ever.
it's amazing that so many so people are either drugged out, dead, in jail or hiding out from the @Feds / enemies . it's probably wise not to follow up or stay in touch with people from the past as it can be toxic. congrats to the ones that are successful or have a family of their own i guess.

Lol 1-2 years, wait til it's been 10. It's my childhood friends who act funny, rather then my HS friends, whom are mostly my closest friends, but time and distance play a part. I had a friend of mine whose known me since pre-school, in the movie business now, but we sat down out in Brooklyn, had dinner, took me to his spot, but that's been my friend since we were like 5, but years have gone by where we didn't talk.have to salute people for that, because it's rare as you get older to keep 100.
It's true that real friendship will start up again, like you never left, but some will kinda of float away and left to ashes, just memories of friendship. It means something to be able to hit up people who've known you your whole life, and have them get back to you. As time goes one, less and less people really know you like that, like when I had holes in my converses, and walked to school, or shot it out with BB guns on the street, playing football til it got dark, even friends of mine for 15 years didn't know me back then.

Still tight with two of my closest friends from high school, although I feel myself outgrowing one dude. He's constantly talking about things from the past and of course there is nothing wrong with memories but we have life to live now too.
