Reading comics but don't want to spend a fortune "catching up"

My biggest gripe about comics is that I refuse to read 30-60 years worth of stories ......just to catch up
My second gripe is a lack of a damn reading order and retcons which make reading certain stories largely pointless in the first place.

That said I came across this site vlcomic.com Comic - Read comics online with relaxing moods and dem hoes got everything.​

I'm still not reading all that shyt but it is nice to have access to certain stuff. Personally I'm interested in the big universe wide events in chronological order. That said the individual issues of some random mofo I could give a damn about can die on the vine.

Those individual comics that are in between events can have some of the best stories and character development. Either way it's hit or miss on quality, and on top of that even the comic arcs are usually better than the movie adaptations, so...
