The fact is he would have had a free pass from fans and media if he would have come back about 5-10 games ago and struggled. Maybe 10-12 points in 25-30 minutes would have been par for the course and it would have been easier on his weak mind. Now that he has elected to forego the entire season and come back next year, he will have a full camp/preseason and all the pressure to perform with no excuses.
So it's official then that he isn't coming back for playoffs?

He's smart for sitting the season, he is 23 and needs to fully heal. fukk if the doctors says he is cleared, they are just under pressure of the team.. These athletes almost never give their injuries proper time to heal, which leads to more injuries..
