That's not indicative to a different moral compass. You can bring up several factors that contribution to that (the end of the crack era, totalitarian tactics by the police force, abortion [that idea by the book, Freakonomic).

There's no more legal segregation or slavery, does that mean we have a better moral compass, now.

Truth. Generation blaming is so stupid. Where do people think this generation came from? It's a direct representation of the lack of teaching and carelessness passed down from the previous one. In other words they failed.

You're right, in today's society it gets overstated. The world has always been fukked up and fukked up things have always happened. In certain areas, this generation is actually much better than the previous ones. There have been some very dark times in human history, but we tend to turn events that happen in the present into the cataclysmic downfall of man and society when it's just not true.

Side note, the whole "respectful" gangsta shyt is . I mean I get it. But the irony of destroying communities with drugs, killing over that shyt or gangs then going to church on Sunday and all that other good stuff is crazy. I guess you need a way to justify it and ease your mind.
