Real talk...why do people buy consoles at launch?

All these threads talking about xbox vs ps4 .. the way i see none of them are worth it straight at launch.

$399 PS4 and already having heating problems and you know Sony will release a redesigned version a couple years down the road.

$499 X1 and god knows what kind of problems it will be having at launch (ala RROD) and plus it's M$

Then the games that have been shown have been half assed and utilize less than 50% of the consoles full potential and yet the stans on here for both consoles are hype it for no reason

I got my PS3 in 09 .. that's 4 years after launch when the redesigned slim came out. I didn't miss out on any games. Maybe played them a bit late, but i still enjoyed the hell out of them. Till then I had my PS2 keeping me alive with the GOAT gaming selection.

Similarly, I will wait a couple years when the good games start being released. And as long as games get released on the PS3, i'll be

Launch day hardware issues didn't exist until Xbox 360, and tangible changes in hardware shortly after release didn't exist until PS3. If you bought those at launch it is of no fault of your own.

Came out about 5 years after the original launch date of the OG PS2.

The PS1 also had a slim one come out a few years later. So PS3 wasn't the first one.

size of a console is not a tangible hardware change. I'm talking about adding/removing backward compatibility, bigger HD, changed features. Nobody who bought a launch PS3 is sad becaue the slim came out

If u play games online it makes no sense getting games late, cause the online population will be dead when u get it, and 50% more powerful is still more powerful

Plus if nobody brought consoles when they first dropped they wouldnt be new consoles

Then I spent 400/500 bucks on this, Just to be like nikka you ain't up on this!

In reality though, I'm a techno head. I cop damn near everything day one. I just copped that Samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition. Sweet as fukk, cost me $599 but it's cool as shyt.
