Wanted to post this documentary before but never got around to it. Noticed the spate of Chicago threads on the first page and thought why not? :patrice:

Rather than giving you the broad outlook of the violence and gang warfare in the city, this documentary gives you a narrower, microcosmic look at the hardships and violence in the city experienced by a particular family with ties to the "streets". It shows the conflict between one brother who is steeped in the street life, and another brother who was able to make it out and into college, and the push and pull effect these two dichotomies had on the family. What ever perspective you want to view this family in, it is clear that the streets have a profound influence on them and is actually what brings them together. It also gives a look into the psychology behind what goes on in the minds of people who find it hard to leave the streets behind whether in Chicago or any other city.

No need to depress myself. I know the sad stories and the pain. Shoot I worked in Cabrini for a few months back when they were still up.
