Realistically in 2014/2015 how many rappers from New York could release albums that would go gold??

Damn, Fif, Jada, Fab didn't release a solo album nearly 5 years. Yeah, After Nas and Jay retire, there won't be anyone left. Its the young MCs from elsewhere that will be selling 500k + with their dedicated fanbases now.

A$AP and Nas are going Gold soon with Long.Live A$AP and Life is Good. The next Nas album is going to have a more mainstream direction, might have a decent single heard Timberlake and Jay are going to be on there. Nas is pretty much gonna be a gold to near gold selling artist from now on.

A$AP's next album should move more units. Nicki will sell Platinum, Jay will sell Plat or near Plat. 50 could possibly go Gold he is on Aftermath he needs the single though.

Joey BADA$$ is a plant and is already probably signed to the Roc lets see how he develops.

Realistically I could see A$AP, Jay, Nas and Nicki going Gold.

Nas and ASAP could probably still go gold with the right push by the labels. Its a cliche excuse but I think early leakes and undershipment may have hurt their last joints from not hitting the mark on gold. Of course Hov, probably Nicki but I think people are tired of her already. Maybe at best 4
