Cole Cash
They took a hammer and sickle to my back
this is one of the more flabbier and sicker moments of my life, i was in high school when i rushed to cop my reserved copy (because shytactually sold out back then) this was next gen like a muthafukka for real, it was the first playstation game outside of tekken 2 that felt like it was a deep seperation from snes/sega/sega cd/neo geo etc. Its surreal to think im that old, im damn near ready to tell my son about it, but he aint even impressed by call of duty, the game could probably run on your phone, i think its 3 or 4 discs, i havent bothered to dig it out. I broke my original copy and i actually repurchased it in 2001 in the military BX i was at in san antonio. i got a psx 20 years ago on december 18th. only game i had was a borrowed (STOLEN) resident evil and hardball 6 (trash, baseball stars was better).
but final fantasy was the first time i saw a game that was considered "big budget", like COD before COD or Halo, the hype surrounding it was insane, them CGI bits were incredible. The game was very rewarding and the story very coherant, my fav final fantasies are actualy 8 and 12 (i have my reasons) but 7 was really during final fantasies hey day of being a dominant franchise which is probably weird if youre young or grew up in the 2000s when it fell off something serious, its also weird that an RPG which isnt exactly a fukking easy thing to play was such a dominating genre. Regardless, i think it shows you people back then who were into games werent just casually into it and it was years before anyone called themselves a "gamer" it was just soemthing you played.
off topic: i remember being happy when i got this, my brother had bought the madden 97 on the psx and i hated playing against him, that game was fukking unbalanced, all this nikka would do is hand it off to TD all fukking game and i couldnt do shyt to stop it fukk that game.
this boss batte still epic
