Tell him to leave ASAP (ideally before any letter of complaint is submitted) so he can maintain that place of employment as a reference. When it comes to HR complaints, the company is always going to side with the accuser (especially when gender/sexual harassment comes into play) because they don’t want to be on the “wrong” side of the decision. That way, they avoid lawsuits.
