:comeon: these dudes are like the tim teebow of hip-hop(really, it should be the other way around. but yall get the point). so i guess that makes me stephen a.:comeon:

im trying not to lose my cool when arguing with idiots. plus im not down with boosting thread numbers for dudes that i dont know. its time to do a part 2 to one of the goat threads in internet history.

and im gonna keep it civil by focusing in on the task at hand. FOR THE RECORD, i was listening to outkast before most of their hipster internet fans that argue me down were even listening to rap. i didnt have a problem with them until the past 8 years when the media started revising history in their favor, and suddenly all these little internet dudes started claiming outkast as goat group contenders out of nowhere.

heres the thing. you cant just say that somebody is in the running for goat, simply because theyre your favorites. they have to possess the credentials of such a group. and they dont. they lack in just about every category. and we're gonna break it down in here.

EDIT: the vast majority of people that came in here against this thread, didnt have anything to contribute except insults. you lil dudes are under the arm-pit. better yet, let me put it in terms that you can better understand. cuz im sure outkast prolly sampled this hook already and its finna come out on some lost tapes disc, 5 years from now. SHOO!!:

:mjlol:

CLASS IS IN SESSION.

i'll begin with one of my favorite selections:

1.) when they were actually good and in their prime, they werent even a top tier group. how could you possibly be a top 5 all-time group when you werent even top 5 when you were hot? and do remember, they were always one of the better promoted groups, had one of the goat machines behind them, and were promoted better than half the groups that were ahead of them.

2.) this is my favorite:
outkast does NOT have the catalog to compete with the true goats. they dont have any ALL-TIME albums, songs, verses, lines, NONE OF THAT. if you try to compare catalogs, you'll realize that youre in way over your head.

3.) theyve had minimal influence on the culture.

4.) theyve had minimal impact on the culture. im not talking about in the pop world or the r&B realm. im talking about in HIP-HOP. i could care less how many records they sold off of "hey ya" and how many grammies and fruity accolades they got off that extra-curricular chit. and for the record, SB/TLB only sold 5 mil. not 10. it was a double cd, and it came out when double cds were cheap on top of that.

stay tuned. more on the way.

most of those 20 million records were sold after they became a joke....and most of that wasnt even hip-hop at all.

The only thing they did that wasn't hip hop was Dre's Love Below disc. You're reaching with this one heavy, they were just as respected/loved as any group besides Wu and Bone by 1996 after they went double platinum with one of the greatest albums of all time with ATLiens, the last album they did before they "sold out" according to you. Add to the fact that they lasted longer than Bone and Wu Tang success wise and you sound like a ass.

the love below is responsible for half of that 20 million. you do know that, right?

they were not #3 in '96. they werent even the top group IN THEIR LANE.

atliens isnt even a classic.

i never said that they sold out. i just said that most of their success isnt a product of hip-hop.

they didnt last longer than bone & wu. those groups basically fell apart, and even then theyve done more recent things of relevance than outkast.

nice touch at the end. real mature. im keeping track of all of this. so when i start chittin on niccas, i dont want to hear nobody try to make me seem like the bad guy on some "he didnt do anything to you" type chit.
