what about Golden state? I can't call that luck. they drafted well. I wouldn't call it luck that Draymond green fell to the second round.

How is that not luck? Anytime you get a player after the first pick, there is luck involved and getting the first pick itself involves luck. If it wasn't luck then the player they drafted in the first round that year would be better than him or they would have taken him then. I mean the T-Wolves drafted two PGs directly in front of Steph :mjlol:. If Iggy likes it in Denver and Livingston doesn't break his leg, how's that bench looking? If Steph's ankles hold up early in his career and he signs a max deal, there is no Durant.

The NBA just needs to make a bigger deal out Division championships and Pennant races so fans and teams feel better about winning regular season games but not winning championships

A team with a consistent winning record shouldn't be shytted so hard

They have actually done the opposite recently. The thing is fans aren't stupid. In other sports a division championship or pennant means you have a legit shot at winning it all. In the NBA it means nothing. Not to mention in the other big two sports winning your division is the most reliable way to make the playoffs. Everybody makes the playoffs in the NBA.

It took curry several years to reach the level he is at. They got lucky with draymond in the 2nd round. They had space to max out igoudala at one point. And they got Livingston for peanuts. It definitely takes luck

nikkas talk about get a star. Well outside of top 5 ain't no other players pushing you past the cavs or warriors. You could add blake griffin, Marc gasol, or McCollum for example and that ain't pushing the needle enough.

Shorten the regular season and make the playoffs 3-2-3 is a start

Would you rather be Wolves/Sixer's Status or Bulls/Hawks ?
The Wolves and Sixers aint winnning no chips in the next 10 years so why does it matter who you'd rather be? The ultimate goal is to compete for a championship, the bolded cant even get in the playoffs. Bu but they're young! Yea, Bleek could be a hit away his whole career.

The trailblazers have been a treadmill team that are going nowhere both with their present and previous core, and the Heat are currently a treadmill team too. They went .500 this year and missed the playoffs. They clearly need another piece. The spurs absolutely fleeced the pacers. You can't count on that. The Celtics are doing well, but you can't expect them to be realistic contenders with their best player being that small, when the smallest player to lead a team to a title was 6'3 190 pound Stephen Curry. If you don't have a realistic championship window, the sensible thing to do is blow it up. This isn't the NFL where you can find Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, Bobby Wagner, and Russell Wilson all from the 2010-12 drafts while also trading for beast mode and expecting to find gems like undrafted free agent Brandon Browner too. There's two rounds in the draft, and the cornerstone players are gone after the top ten 95% of the time while it's a total crapshoot to even find a useful player in the second round. The only way to open the championship window is hit a home run in the top ten picks (usually top five) or hit a home run in free agency.
