What are some things you've been recently put onto in the last 3-5 years that you regret not checking out sooner? It can be food, places, music, activities, whatever. Don't be embarrassed, we ain't judging in here and it's better late than never. I'm trying to discover some new stuff. I'll start:
  • Whole fish - The heads used to freak me out, but searing/baking fish whole makes it taste WAY better. And if cooked right, you can remove all the bones in one piece
  • MVNOs - Always thought they were for broke people for some reason, but they actually make a lot of sense financially if you don't upgrade your phone often. Switching to Mint mobile has been pretty good so far.
  • Global Entry - Mainly got it for the precheck, but its also nice to avoid the long customs lines when entering the country. I'll always renew this.
  • Botanical/Japanese Gardens - Really relaxing and serene. Like a zoo but with all plants and no loud kids running around.
  • Goat and Oxtail meat - I'm kinda embarrassed how long it took. Goat curry, goat biryani, oxtail pho, oxtail stew...all so good. Oxtail cost too damn much though.
  • Hawaiian Food - Poke, Hawaiian BBQ, musubi, loco moco, malasadas...slept on it for way too long.
  • Hawaii in general - undisputed GOAT state
  • College Baseball - Not as popular as NCAA basketball and football, so you can get great seats for almost nothing. A more fun experience live than MLB baseball.

Those are some good ones. I got put on to the goat/oxtail about 8 years ago and wondered why I only messed with jerk chicken for so long. Botanical gardens are also super dope.

For me I'd say doing walks/light hiking along nice trails/water. That does something great for the spirit and mind! Also listening to Stuff You Should Know podcast. Lot's of interesting topics and even the random episodes (i.e What's the Deal With Staring, Ants! Part 1 and Why Do Lefties Exist) are dope.

I gotta get into podcasts, they're something I've just overlooked completely. I just never know where to start, there are so many. I'll add that one to the list. I've heard the true crime ones are really good too.

I'll add a food item..... Dim Sum

I have a few Asian homies that I work with and they had always told me about dim sum and how I should try it. But when they would describe it, they would always use words like "traditional" and they'd say "It is REAL Chinese food. Not the stuff that most Americans are used to". One of them even mentioned chicken feet as one of the dishes. So in my mind, I was thinking it would be a bunch of shyt I didn't want to actually eat. What I discovered though was that it's an amazing experience. I'd recommend it to anyone that likes Asian food.

Nice, that's a good one. I want to try Dim Sum and also Shabu Shabu. The experience looks similar to KBBQ.
