Bron fans have been trying to rewrite history, posting Bron's stats from the 09 ECFs when in real time everyone could see the man choking in every big moment. As time goes on, context gets lost, and Bron fans pounce on it to push misrepresented narratives of what was really going on in real time. They'll tell you Bron was simply dominating all game long and his teammates from his 60+ win team were just so ass they couldn't compete. But in real time the media and the fans could all see what was happening.

Here's the real story

This is such a weird instance of a player having extremely good stats but completely failing to close out the games or play well in the final quarter.

Game 1:

  • In game 1, Lebron checked into the 4th quarter at the 9 min mark and hit a layup to go up 1 point.
  • Over the next 6 minutes Lebron completely disappears, no shot attempts, no scoring. By 3 minutes left in the game the broadcast was wondering what happened to Lebron and why is he so passive all quarter.
  • Cavs lose by 1, Lebron scored 3 baskets in the final 9 minutes and went 6 minutes straight with no shots.
  • At the end of game 1, *Everyone* was questioning Lebron's passive 4th quarter play.
Game 2:

  • In the 4th quarter, for the first 6 minutes, Lebron fails to make a shot and has two turnovers, letting Orlando tie the game with 6 mins to go. At this point, AGAIN, the broadcast team is talking about Lebron's poor 4th quarter play.
  • Over the next 6 Minutes Lebron fails to make any baskets and keeps turning the ball over.
  • Orlando takes the lead in the final seconds.
  • Lebron hits a MIRACLE half court shot to steal the game, after choking the entire 4th quarter and letting Orlando come back and take the lead.
  • He got bailed out with an extremely lucky shot from a poor 3 point shooter
Game 3:

  • Lebron checks in at the 9 min mark down 7 and is completely unable to close the gap.
  • He cant hit a shot all quarter
  • Lebron shoots 0/4 from 3 in the 4th
  • He manages to get to the line but he missed 5 free throws in the 4th
  • Lebron has multiple 4th quarter turnovers again
  • Cavs easily lose game 3
So far, Lebron has godly stats for 3 games, but he has completely disappeared in the 4th quarters and is labeled as someone with no Killer instinct.

Game 4:

  • Lebron plays the entire 4th, he does not score a basket until the 5:17 mark.
  • Again, Lebron just played 7 awful minutes in the 4th quarter of this series.
  • He scores again at the 2:00 min mark, so 2 baskets in 10 minutes in the ECF in the 4th quarter. Completely disappearing again.
  • Lebron has THREE turnovers in ovetime... THREE...
  • Lebron misses 4 shots in overtime.
  • Magic win game 4
4 games now and Lebron has the world baffled at how bad his clutch play. It's all the media is talking about is how Lebron can't handle pressure or take over in big moments.... But he has Godly stats... people forget the context over time.

Magic win the series in 6 games mostly due to Lebron completely sucking in the 4th quarter and overtime for the first 4 games.

Magic won game 6 in a huge blowout also. Wasn't even competitive at that point.

Refuse to assert yourself in every 4th qtr with a Finals appearance on the line after spending the whole season showboating with your teammates, brehs
The real story WILL be told :wow:

Anyways, going to fact check-

Game 1 4th quarter- 4/6 10 points

Game 2 4th quarter- 2/6 7 points 3 TO

Game 3 4th quarter- 3/8, 7/12 FTA 14 points 1 TO

Game 4 4th quarter- 2/5, 10 points 4 TO, OT 3/7 10 points 3 TO

Game 5 4th quarter- 6/11 17 points

Game 6 4th quarter- 1/4 4 points

He shot 44.6% from the field in the 4th quarters (not bad), 26% from 3 (bad), and 13 TOs (half of his TO came in the fourth quarter for the series). Players play well for the first 3 quarters and then just aren't able to carry that in the fourth. That's actually extremely common because it is a matter of being hot then cold, and you'll find MJ and Kobe were no exception.

Anyways, it's evident LeBron for the most part didn't play great in the fourth quarters. Scoring is harder in the fourth so the drop in efficiency is what it is, but the alarming aspect is the TOs. The TOs are unacceptable and much more damming (as well as not being aggressive) of choking than simply shooting poorly.

Couldn't fact check the broadcasters, but LeBron's choker reputation didn't originate out of nowhere. To ignore what people were saying at the time of these things were happening is to deny reality and engage in revisionist history. What happened in real time and the way perspectives are crafted at that time actually constitute reality and history, not what statlines say and people staring at them 15 years into the future.

LeBron did/does have a reputation for quitting on his teams multiple times and mentally checking out going back to his first Cleveland stint. While I can't confirm that in the 2009 series, he most certainly did in 2010 against the Celtics, where he was actually the heavy favorite to win against Boston. The closing minutes of game 6 by LeBron in 2010 he is playing some uncharacteristically horrendous basketball. Just review the tape.

LeBron James himself even faults himself for not getting past the Magic and go to the Finals.
He knew he wasn't good enough and failed. So I don't know why there exists fans who try to glaze the few failures he actually faults himself for. Same kind of fanboys engaging in revisionist history when they say 2009 LeBron > Kobe even though LeBron literally said Kobe was the better player that year.

Kobe fans are going out sad. Yesterday they brought up a 14 year old series for LeBron. Today, It’s a a 16 year old series where LeBron averaged 39/8/8. No one in history history has been criticized for losing a series where they averaged 39 PPG.LeBron had better stats than Kobe vs. Orlando.

Its interesting that Klutch’s minions have spent the last few years crafting hit pieces on other all time greats and now the tides are turning and Bron stans dont like it

Lebron stans have been revising history.

The fact is.... those so-called "trash teams" he carried were good enough for him to be in the position to win if HE HAD JUST CLOSED.

even in 07 against the spurs, he shot like shyt and every game was close.

Yea its jumped the shark.

The major difference is Dwight averaged 10 more points a game against the Cavs than the Lakers.
Pau led both teams in points in two OT games that series. No one expected Pau to outplay him, but Lakers were the favorites to win the series.

Cavs might have won game 4 but Mike Brown had Ben Wallace guarding Rashard Lewis with the game on the line. :pachaha:
