What I gather is that she went to live with her father at 17 and he was overwhelmed with the trauma she had accumulated from living with a drug abusing mother. She alludes to being abused as a child under her mother's care.

My guess is that, growing up with a neglectful mother in an abusive environment, she had fantasies about this strong, masculine father swooping in and rescuing her from a bad situation.
Eventually she realized that her father was a detached, aloof person who wasn't invested in her life like that. He definitely sounds like a weak male who had no idea how to provide guidance and protection.

Not sure what to do with this information other than to encourage trifling brehs to stay in their daughter's lives.

Yep he didn’t care about her one way or the other. Basically told her “thoughts and prayers” and hit her with the peace sign whenever she went to him. Also, I feel pretty certain she was a wild child and her dad was forced to take her in. Every story she gives she is being fukked by some guy.

Rich or poor, people's kids always have some beef with their mom or dad. Kids don't realize their parents are human just like them and are not perfect, plus no handbook on how to raise kids.
