You are right, Slavs are the original slaves, the modern Slavic nations are the descendants of those slaves.

However NO ONE calls anyone a Slave unless they are in modern day slavery. So your entire premise is flawed and offensive. There is something called etymology, each word has its origins and this topic is useless.

Use your energy for productive stuff.

And was that something "blacks" ever agreed to or made up? Exactly my point, the word was re appropriated to blacks to help erase the TRUE history of that term. Just as you rarely hear about white slaves in history even though the 1st slaves WERE white, the white ppl often refer to them as "indentured servants" when they were straight up slaves. Clearly there is a GAME being played. Whites do not want their people to fall into a state of victimization because victimization is damn near synonymous with "defeated" thats why they try to eliminate words like that from being attached to them or any type of negative history, they understand clearly the meaning and POWER of words. Try again.

No. They were slaves. Slave is an English word, there is an equivalent in a lot of languages because it's part of war and that was the outcome.

This argument is ridiculous. If you would have tried to educate and remind audiences on the origin of the word that is one thing but talking about the TAST is irrelevant. The Mongols took a lot of Slavs as slaves, the Japanese enslaved people from Korea and they themselves were taken as slaves by the Portuguese etc etc etc.

A lot of bad things happened in history. Why does history focus on the American version? Because they turned it into an industry and built a nation on it. If they are going to teach about it in schools the topic should be amended to "Slavery in human history". Start from the beginning. Otherwise don't teach it at all, on that I wholeheartedly agree with you.

@Bricktop,
- come prove this smart dumb nikka wrong. Im waiting. The terms and labels you accept, have you ever done research into what they mean or thought about why they were put on you? I mean, very simple stuff.

No one is taking issue with the origin of the word. It's actually an interesting fact.

It's the premise of the thread, like Ms Curious said. Just because a word originated elsewhere historically, doesn't negate the current modern usage. Etymologically speaking, a lot of modern words have origins which might not exactly fit the way we use them now. Over time words (like ''slave'') become shorthand to describe very similar situations .

Perhaps you also want us to stop using ''ghetto'' since it originally referred to the areas to which the jews in Europe were segregated to.
