In case yall unfamiliar with who he is.
Over 20 years ago truck driver Reginald Oliver Denny didn't know what awaited for him as he headed west bound in his International Road Tractor. It wasn't long after this that Denny, 36 at the time, unknowingly drove into the heart of the LA Riots. Just a few hours earlier, four Los Angeles police officers were acquitted in the beating of south central Los Angeles resident Rodney King. Members of the community were immediately and visibly upset about the verdict, which is why not long after, residents, on the corner of Florence and Normandie attacked police cars, and under order, were forced to retreat. And it is here that Denny was pulled out of a his truck, moments later after being forced to stop due to all of the chaos. He was severly beaten and left in the middle of the street for dead. There was no clear motivation of the attack other than racial prejudice. Now, coming up on the 24th anniversary of the riots, the now boat mechanic Denny will recieve a medal of honor for his bravery and humbleness of forgiving the culprits who led the violent attack upon himself.
