Relatives Telling You That You'd Never Amount to Anything

Just curious, anyone here ever had relatives growing up who used to shyt on you and tell you you'd never be anything? If so, what's your relationship with that person now as adults?

I had this problem with my grandma who helped raise me. When I was a kid, she used to diss me alot, say alot of negative things, and tell me I'd be nothing. Till this day as an adult, I dont really like her like that. One of my relatives got injured this weekend, so I called up the family. I spoke with everyone but I made sure they didnt hand the phone to grandma because I got nothing to say to her. It's icy like that.

Usually they tell you that when you're fukking up or when they're deranged and sometimes but rarely when you're fukking up and they're deraged.
