North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Religion was created by primitive humans to justify their existence. First they worshiped the sun, stars and moon because they were like :dwill: and as time passed they started giving them names and eventually new make believe idols to worship based on the formation of stars. More time passed an the human mind created totally new idols that are worshiped today.

Emotions created irrational thinking and is the anti human evolution. If the human brain were a door, emotions would be the chain you put on it to keep shyt out. It's cracked open just enough, but can't really do or see much. Fear, hate, love, lust etc. It all causes a chemical imbalance that stops the brain from retaining knowledge, processing information seamlessly and making rational decisions. It's the reason why society is fukked up right now.

Not going to touch the religion thing....

But emotions you're way off point. Should really do some reading on the importance of emotion on "traditional" intelligence. shyt is linked a lot more closely than you might think, full disclosure there's still a lot of work to be done. There's also a lot of research as to where "Creativity" comes from and it's not in the logical technical mind. One of the biggest mistakes I made between the ages of about 10-25, partly because of how I was raised, was to view emotion as a weakness, something to be overcome and discarded, rather than understood and appreciated for what it is, an equal part of what makes me me. Denying emotions is literally like denying 1/2 of what makes and governs you. That's like having a test but only reading half the book.

Anger usually makes me more creative than combative & irrational. Every living thing has feels.

Can't really be 100% logical or 100% emotional, gotta have both and make them work together.

the stone that the builder refused will always be the head cornerstone

Watching your emotions (without judgement) is much more intelligent and beneficial than shutting them out. Some have said it's the highest form of human intelligence. A lot of religious people and those overly concerned with rationality could probably stand to sincerely look at what they are instead of trying to live up to some concept of an ideal they've formulated in their mind. Take a step back and allow the viewing to broaden itself

Karl Marx said:
The foundation of irreligious criticism is: Man makes religion, religion does not make man. Religion is, indeed, the self-consciousness and self-esteem of man who has either not yet won through to himself, or has already lost himself again. But man is no abstract being squatting outside the world. Man is the world of man – state, society. This state and this society produce religion, which is an inverted consciousness of the world, because they are an inverted world. Religion is the general theory of this world, its encyclopaedic compendium, its logic in popular form, its spiritual point d’honneur, its enthusiasm, its moral sanction, its solemn complement, and its universal basis of consolation and justification. It is the fantastic realization of the human essence since the human essence has not acquired any true reality. The struggle against religion is, therefore, indirectly the struggle against that world whose spiritual aroma is religion.

Religious suffering is, at one and the same time, the expression of real suffering and a protest against real suffering. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people.

The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness. To call on them to give up their illusions about their condition is to call on them to give up a condition that requires illusions. The criticism of religion is, therefore, in embryo, the criticism of that vale of tears of which religion is the halo.

Criticism has plucked the imaginary flowers on the chain not in order that man shall continue to bear that chain without fantasy or consolation, but so that he shall throw off the chain and pluck the living flower. The criticism of religion disillusions man, so that he will think, act, and fashion his reality like a man who has discarded his illusions and regained his senses, so that he will move around himself as his own true Sun. Religion is only the illusory Sun which revolves around man as long as he does not revolve around himself.

People on this board whine about religion but turn around and don't want to do anything about the material conditions that lead people to religion. :shaq2: :camby:
