....the nature of evil is more sadistic than you have understood it to be....if allowed, they would indulge in wickedness/abuse to such a degree that it would never end without being challenged....the worst of an evil person is realized in an environment where they have autonomy/authority....otherwise their desires are masked and remain as a fantasy to them....the ultimate truth of a person will always be their gravity....none will have a casual relationship with the divine....it will always bloom into love or hate....there is nothing in between....

He never decided "Hey, let's keep these jews alive long enough to suffer for their entire natural lives through torture. We will never let them die."

Disobedience to God is a state that exists outside of space and time. If they were allowed free will for eternity they would sin for eternity, that's why some will be punished for eternity.
So someone like Hitler should be allowed to live in paradise or just not exist and never be punished for the evil he inflicted on earth? God is the most just, and that would be an injustice to all the righteous people who lived and attempted to do good while on Earth.
