I always thought this. Just based on all the "theories" I believe he had plans on leaving and he actually survived the Vegas shooting, but somehow got killed along the way somehow while in hiding.What if he was supposed to come back eventually but something went terribly wrong and he got killed or something. Nobody would ever know.,,
