Cockpit voice recorder captured one pilot asking, “Why did you cut off?” The other replied, “I did not do so”.
These switches have safety features to prevent accidental activation, and cockpit recordings show the pilots were surprised and confused by the change.
If a Boeing part were at fault, it would likely be the fuel control switches or their associated wiring/actuators.
If there were a mechanical or electrical fault, for example, a short circuit, faulty relay, or sticking actuator it could, in theory, cause the switches or the valves they control to move or close unintentionally, cutting off fuel to the engines

That plane model wasn't new. It was old with a flawless record. That specific plane itself never really had an incident. The problem was with the airline, not the manufacturer. Either pilot error, maintenance error or a combination of both.

Boeing leadership has the scruples of a $10 crack whore. They are willing to lie, cheat, steal, and literally murder to avoid liability for a defect.

If he was suicidal I have a hard time believing he was doing it 5 seconds after liftoff, sounds more of a mechanical error on the plane's part. Boeing is fresh off killing 20 whistle blowers so I am sure they are willing to blame the man who can't defend himself.
