The league start moving to stretch bigs.

Everybody wants to be a shooting guard or small forward now and play on the wing and showcase their fancy dribbling skills and ability to shoot low percentage jump shots.

Back to the basket big men like Hakeem, Shaq, David Robinson, Ewing, and K. Malone seem to be a thing of yesteryear.

The only ones of these new generation bigs I’d build around is Jokic and Wemby (even though the jury is still out on him) he has the tools to be a top 10 player ever to lace them up if he puts it all together.

Most of these guys aren’t Jokic or Wemby though. Most of these guys fall into the skill set of KAT, Julius Randle, Myles Turner, Pascal Siakim, etc. Nice players but you won’t win shyt with any of them as your top guy.

On KRS One's nose, eating sunflower seeds.
A lot of those guys had listed weights from their rookie years, they were obviously grew a lot bigger later on

And you might need to update yourself on the pedo if you are saying fluidity like Shaq. Dude was known for his footwork and agility
You might need to reread, I said Malone DIDNT HAVE the fluidity.

Tbh, we kinda overrate the amount of back-to-the-basket bigs that were worth a damn back in the day. We also overrate the value of that move set. i.e. if you ain’t Shaq or Hakeem, pass the fukking ball with that struggle offense :camby: :mjlol:

Aint no one tryna see Rik Smits back down dribble featured anymore than we want to see Zubac, Vucevic, or Valacunias do that (all back to the basket bigs comparable to Smits). Illegal defense is no longer a thing so teams build a wall on that shyt forcing bigs to catch further from the paint or make quicker decisions before getting trapped

This.

Not to mention, the modern 3 ball means a team can generate more points in half the time it takes to get a half court set going. Back to the basket just isnt as formidable nowadays.
