I remember when they were saying action bronson would be a star b/c only peckawoods buy albums. 38k first week sales for him, 50k for Iggy, and around 58k for Joey Badass even though he gets no hype. Hell, Boosie been gone for like 4 years, was never mainstream to begin with, and still did 50k. D-list (mainstream hype-wise) black rappers still >>> over-hyped pig skin rappers. Let's be real:
- Pig skin rappers won't get on unless black people co-sign him. Pig skins never even know about rappers until black people put them on the map.
- Pig skins have no creativity. They just copy another race's culture and claim it as their own (Iggy wants to be a southern black girl, Bronson wants to be Ghost Face, etc)
- If pig skins are the ones buying all the albums, then why aren't pig skins rapper selling more than the black rappers? Oh that's right, some moron made a race headline, then cacs ran with it. Cole and Kendrick have some pro-black lyrics at times, and they're still 2 of the biggest 5 rappers out in terms of sales and respect. Even plies was selling back then, and he used to have "cracka" in his rhymes.
Most of these "white album sales" goes to bubble-gum rappers, but the biggest rappers around are always built off of black support.
Even when they stole rock, look what happened. The genre died.
