I'm from STL, even rap myself but there were some cuts here back in the day that never went mainstream
I went to school with Shorty when he was signed to Atlantic... right around the time "Wah Wah Wow" dropped.... way before he got the 106 gig
If STL was given the opportunity to make a run now it might last longer cuz there's definitely more talented artists than what's been displayed to everyone else...... if you were to judge solely off of what's been posted here you'd be amazed at how the underground scene has progressed
Murphy Lee use to be my favorite Lunatic... its amazing how he went from the lead single of the Bad Boys 2 soundtrack with Diddy to being a local rapper just chillin in the club with the rest of us
Pretty Willie could've blew if he didn't turn into a semi gospel artist. He had some R&B piff called "Lay Your Body Down" and "4 Walls" that use to KILL the radio
