remember when the NBA change the basketball?

If I remember correctly, the new ball was made of a composite fiber opposed to the regular leather balls. And while the grip on it was better it would collect small amounts of debris when bounced on the ground and it would accumulate and irritate players hands. I think Steve Nash complained of it cutting his fingers. The panels on it were weird too.

Yea I remember.Everybody was complaining and they went back to the leather ball on new years.It was the 06-07 season I believe

I also remember the nba had that zero tolerance policy where you couldn't talk to refs after calls.They were giving players techs left n right as soon as they said something.

Nash or Kobe didn't like the new ball I remember and they changed it back after the All Star break that season.

Yeah....they were going crazy for a brief moment. I think this was around the time Bean was pimp slapping euros every other week. :mjgrin:
