Nothing racist about that

Hogan was a bigger legend in the wrestling business at that point

Same with Austin and Rock

The way I see it Austin and Hogan are A1 and A2 on the all time list

Rock and Cena are more like B1 and B2

A high percentage of wrestling fans are probably racist as fukk, but making this about race instead of dilutes actual racism endemic in society

The fact is that Rock was pretty stale as a face at that point, and it was in front of a majority smark Canadian crowd who traditionally fukking LOVED Hogan at all times, wanting him to turn face again

WWE was at it's highest revenue in 2000 when the Rock was the lead man

It's the Rock and Hoegan who too wrestling into mainstream more than Austin

I was happy to see Hogan again. He hadn't been on tv in a year and 1/2 which at that time felt like forever to a 15 year old me. The year prior (2001) was the first time in wrestling since the early 80's where Hogan wasn't making a blip in the wrestling scene.

Plus this was Hoegan’s first WWF run in almost a decade, he had been gone from mainstream wrestling for like 2 years by that point, and the nWo in the WWF was fresh.
A couple months after this Hoegan got a standing ovation in Canada again

Nah its more the smark Toronto crowd. Before WCW was bought out Goldberg wrestled Curt Henning on a Nitro in Toronto and the crowd was rooting for Henning all the way. Even though Bill was supposed to the good guy.

kind to think of it, didn’t Henning get over with the rap is crap country song even though he was heel? :lupe:

And based on Goldbergs name the crowd probably knew he the type to shop at HEB. So good amount of wrestling fans are probably racist.

Cause they raised prices, attendance was down from the previous year.
