Remember when you had to be a good player on both ends of the floor to be considered great?

I'm guessing @Type Username Here doesn't think Magic was a great player. He doesn't seem to be addressing that in this thread. 
Curry isn't a bad defender. He's an average on-ball defender with quick hands and good footwork but he's a great pest defender with great understanding of when to help off his men, how to properly shadow and cut off passing lanes and driving lanes plus he has ungodly eyesight and vision so he can pick pockets if you ain't always protecting the ball.
I think people only think of defense as ability to play isolation defense, on an island, and try to stop a dude.

They were dudes in the beloved 90s who were terrible defensive players but great offensive players who were considered great too.

He really doesn't but it works for the narrative. The fact of the matter is Curry's offensive output is so great that it wouldn't matter if he didn't play defense at all. He plays average to good team defense at times, but to say he's playing "great" team defense is a direct insult to guys who truly are playing good defense.
Then either you're not watching or your bias is affecting your judgment. LeBron has been great on defense this season.I'm not seeing this
