No chance 300 people and majority of who do get full time jobs are low level security, cleaners, operation positions. The high level people work in a different state or country and remotely manage . So they aren't doing shyt for the local community.
Yeah I looked it up and I way overstated the average. I saw one site state on AVERAGE they employee 30 people.

I’m sure that for those 30 people the job is cool. But one, one thing they are doing now is purposely trying to build in arid and desert locations like Reno and where I live in Arizona because humidity causes issue. But a lot of these places are already concerned about the availability of water, so you don’t want this shyt because they use more water than anyone.

Secondly, even places they have placed where water availability isn’t a concern they use so much water they still cause problems. I read that in a place they have on in Texas they are tell residents to now limit their water usage and showers to account for the data centers using so much.

There is no upside for cities with these things. If you hear one is coming to your town, go to those city council meetings and speak out against it. That what happened where I’m at.

For those 30 people they love it! They are still getting above market value for what they would be doing somewhere else and the work load is little to nothing. So they are getting paid more money to do much less work. You are 100% right about the water. But not only water but the cost of electricity goes up anywhere they build these because it's super taxing on the power grid. They also use diesel/fuel generators for redundancy and that shyt is loud and pollutes the air like crazy. AZ is catching on and it's super hard to open them on the east valley now where the white people live after complaints. So now they are filling the west valley of them back to back where minorities live

Lake Tahoe is 30 miles away and is the largest lake by volume after the great lakes.. it feeds the truckee river to all these data centers on i80

The Lake holds about 39 trillion gallons of water, enough to cover the state of California to a depth of 14½ inches. A

Lake Mead has 9trillion gallons

For how long though?! Does the state own it? If so for how much longer? I like the silver lining there, but its only a matter of time.........they always talking about how critically low the levels are in that lake

RIP Reno.

Data centers are only drains on where they are placed. They do not bring a ton of jobs, horrible for environments, and shoot up utility prices.

On average they may bring a 100-300 jobs post construction. Some even less. Some don’t even keep employees on site outside of security. Yet they use up a shyt ton of energy and water.

My city just ran Amazon out of town trying to build that shyt here. :blessed:

There all over Northern Virginia and building more with Amazon HQ2 being built…It’s wild and it’s one of the most affluent region in the country not the middle of nowhere at all..
