Report: Bengals, Lewis agree to contract extension

The Bengals and head coach Marvin Lewis have agreed to a one-year contract extension that keeps Lewis under contract through 2017, NFL Network’s Michael Silver reported Friday.

Lewis is entering his 14th season as Bengals head coach and is the NFL’s second longest tenured head coach.

The Bengals have been in the playoffs for five straight seasons but Lewis still has not won a playoff game as head coach in seven tries. Though the Bengals have suffered some personnel losses via free agency, the core of their team returns for 2016 and their contending window should very much be open, so at least in theory this extension removes a potential distraction for Lewis and the team with regard to the upcoming season.

Lewis is 112-94-2 as Bengals head coach. His teams have won four division championships.

:dwillhuh: :mindblown: DAMN at least he's better than Jeff Fisher I guess being Mediocre is acceptable to the Brown family.

Breh Lewis is Vince Lombardi compared to Jeff Fisher. Fisher is Dave Wannstedt without Steve McNair and to think Fisher hoe ass locked McNair out that training facility after saving his bytch ass for years.
