I actually think Marvin Lewis deserves more money, imo.

But either way it makes sense, Marvin is better than half the coaches in the NFL. I'd take him over that stale Saltine cracker Jeff Fisher, whose coaching style stopped evolving in 1989.

Here's the thing...If he wanted more money he wouldn't get these extensions...

I was all aboard the plan to have Marvin become the team president and have Hue Jackson take over as the HC....Also the last 2 seasons or so we have had assistants poached from us to become HCs of other teams (Jay Gruden, Zimmernan, Jackson) with varying rates of success....id almost assume if any of them were made HC they would of stayed...

The team has peaked with Marvin he has gotten us to this point and is great for the city....But it's fairly obvious Brown hangs on to him because 1.he knows he will be respectable and get at least 1 playoff check and 2.Marvin is one of the cheaper coaches.

The Great Green North
If white coaches can be mediocre & retain jobs and be recycled (Chuck Knox, Lindy Infante, Dennis Erickson, Jeff Fisher, Rex Ryan to name a few) then good on Marvin for joining the club. Having said that...

I notice many are ripping Dalton & absolving Lewis of playoff failures in this thread. Dalton deserves blame but ya'll care to tell me how many playoff appearances & wins Lewis has had with a better QB in Carson Palmer? :jbhmm:

And before ya'll bring out the Kimo caveat, lets not forget about '09

Yall dudes forgot how SORRY the Bengals, AKA the BUNGLES were before Lewis? :dahell:

Brown doesnt want them to be like their cross-state rival.
Most sports fans are delusional. They don't realize how difficult it is to get a coach good enough to consistently make the playoffs let alone win championships. It's a different sport but look at the Bulls after firing Thibodeau, these fools went from consistently winning 50 games (even with a hurt Rose) to not even making the playoffs. The Eagles fired Reed and he went to Kansas City and brought his consistency over there and now what has become of the Eagles? You also don't fire coaches when you don't have a suitable replacement. What quality coaching is out there currently? The Giants fired Coughlin and had to hire his understudy smh. One of the issues professional sports also face when it comes to coaching is they have to compete with college sports. It doesn't help when idiotic management like the 49ers run out of town the best thing to happen to them since Jerry Rice (Harbaugh). With shyt like that happening why would the Sabans, Meyer's, etc of the world ever leave the college game?
