The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE is being cautious when signing smaller guys. Additionally, they are also planning to be more hesitant in general when it comes to signing talent with already-established names on the indy circuit.

Regarding smaller talent, WWE officials feel they have enough at this point. While there's no definitive rule when it comes to signing -- or not signing -- smaller guys, they will most likely be cutting back on how many they sign in the near future.

Even further, WWE doesn't feel like they have enough "big guys" on the roster, and there's a bit of an internal mindset that it's affecting business in a negative way.

When it comes to established indy stars in general -- small or otherwise -- that have achieved a certain level of success on their own, WWE's primary concern is breaking them of bad habits they create on the indy circuit.

Another interesting part about WWE signing new talent is that they want guys that feel they're unable to make it without WWE. Many established indy stars understand they can work WWE temporarily, return to the indies if things don't work out, and be even more successful than before.

i agree they are short on (quality) big guys...but lets be honest..most of those guys who have the "perfect look" for wrestling usually arent very talented in the ring or cant speak well...

Things are different..if you don't bring it on the mic or in the ring, no matter the size, you're gonna be expose and a smark market will find you and get on your case. Kozlov failed. Ryback got over but they chose Punk and his non ratings over him. Khali was a freak project that was never going to last. Swagger got size but gets buried all the time in squash matches. Sheamus is the last newer big guy they've pushed and he had to carry bags to move up that fast.

Vince and HHH mentality is totally wrong. You mean to tell me when fans watch Daniel Bryan wrestle, they're thinking "he's 5'8" "he's not that muscular". Hell no. He can talk on the mic and he's charismatic in the ring. That's enough right there. Like Jericho said, all these guys look the same size on the ring on tv aside from guys like big show. It's only people with men's bodies fetishes like Vince and Paul look at that

Currently, their most cheered babyfaces are a couple of "indy geeks" and someone (i forget who) predicted the business would get smaller about eleven years ago.

Playing devil's advocate tho Vince would say look at my top four moneymakers none of them are smallish. Bret and HBK are the exception, not the rule.

I can see where they are coming from...they do need more big guys on the roster, besides Show and Kane, the only current active "Big Guys" I can think of are Big E and Ryback and while I'm a fan of both (Ryback more so than Big E) they need atleast two more convincing big guys to job out to make the small guys look more impressive. I also see what their getting at not wanting to sign big indy darlings. Most of the time these guys come in with an attitude and an ego and act like they don't have to work the WWE style (ala you're juventud guerreras).

And people really think HHH and Stephanie are gonna go against the grain when they take over? The 'E has and always will be a for the muscle heads.

that look they love is a dime a dozen these days, shyt there's 1000's of Bodybuilder type cats who fit the WWE look that spend their days posting selfies and shyt all over twitter/ instagram

its charisma that's lacking, natural charisma and big men with natural on cue charisma are in short supply nowadays, the ones that have it are in the NFL or MMA.
