McDowell's
they forget their GOAT republican's words....especially now

"A house divided against itself, cannot stand."

I believe this government cannot endure permanently half slave and half free.

I do not expect the Union to be dissolved — I do not expect the house to fall — but I do expect it will cease to be divided.

It will become all one thing or all the other.

Either the opponents of slavery will arrest the further spread of it, and place it where the public mind shall rest in the belief that it is in the course of ultimate extinction; or its advocates will push it forward, till it shall become lawful in all the States, old as well as new — North as well as South."

Abraham Lincoln said this 164 years ago. Somehow it's still relevant now, but for so many more things instead of slavery. Either the US accepts insane Republican policies and turns America to Ameristan. Or challenge that shyt and join the rest of the world in providing universal healthcare, affordable housing, affordable schooling, and social safety nets to American citizens.

Not to mention letting Americans having freedom to go to church, the mall, schools, and celebrating their country without getting turned into a fukkin pack.

Right now, America is divided and the union will dissolve at this rate. Where are the Republicans quoting Abe Lincoln? Do current day Republicans even AGREE that slavery should've been abolished?

I don't give a shyt about both sides. But this message from over a hundred years ago, from a long dead cac, still being relevant is insane.

You have to put this is historical context. The republicans of today are not the republicans of Lincoln's time. In Lincoln's era, the Republican party was the liberal party. And the Democrat party was the conservative party. That's why it's misleading when modern Republicans try to link themselves to the party of Lincoln, usually in a shameless effort to cater to the black people.

They've made it very clear that they're not actually interested in American principles. They are fascistic in their thought process now. A key pillar of fascism is using whatever is popular to rise to power. When you hear 'national socialism' that sounds pretty liberal. Literally it's socialism for the country with a focus on its people rather than profit holders. In practice you got 'Nazis'

They champion free speech so they can take it from others
They champion freedom of religion so they can stifle other religions that are not their own
They champion fredom of movement until they can take it from others.

They don't believe in any thing other than dominance over those that they've decided are the 'out' group. Roe V wade is the first step. Next it's obergfell v Hodges, then loving v virginia. It's all going to lead up to revisiting the debate on slavery. They've been priming children and the public for it by minimizing the ills of slavery in the school curriculum and using terms like 'involuntary laborers' or 'unpaid immigrants'. They won't call it slavery, they'll call it 'payment at the discretion of the employer' and will say that 'suitable lodgings and food are acceptable substitutes for payment'.

They don't actually care about what is good for the individual or for families. If they did, they'd support healthcare. They'd support child care. They'd support free or cheap tuition. They'd regulate the police. They'd regulate employers. The ultimate end of their platform is a return to the days where a man can be property, the work day ends when an employer says it does, and weekends and any time off are at the employer's discretion. That's their vision for the future.

and this was a gift from France. the same french people republicans beefed with cause they didnt want to roll into Afghanistan and Iraq for 20 fukkin years :snoop:
The French electorate are the kinds of people these rednecks think they are. The government over there knows that if they press people too hard, they will get out in the street and fukk them up. The French Revolution ended with the destruction of a monarchy that had been in charge for literally thousands of years. Once the people murked their royal family whose rule was supposed to be ordained by God himself and nothing happened--no divine retribution like plagues, famine etc. they realized they can create something new and they suffered for hundreds of years for nothing.

Something similar will happen in America. The amount of reverence that conservatives have for the founders of the country and the constitution borders on religious. They are cool with interpreting the constitution as it was from those days because they've decided the founders had a supernatural wisdom that can't be questioned. In reality, they'd be the modern-day equivalent of the likes of Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Jamie diamond, and George W Bush. Millionaires who have a level of intelligence/influence that exceeds the normal person, but who aren't humble enough to recognize their own weaknesses. The founders were men, not gods.

Things aren't bad enough yet, but I think the moment voting rights, citizenship for people who were born in America or the question of slavery is opened up again that will trigger a some state cessations and eventually a civil war as those states that have regressed realize that they need resources and the other states that haven't regressed are unwilling to hand them over. Think Arizona demanding resources from California and Cali telling them to fukk off. These republicans really want to try it and the only ones stopping them are an increasingly delusional and out of touch democratic party who are unable to or unwilling to. An internal coup will need to happen in that party to retire people like Feinstein, Pelosi, Schumer, etc. if America has any chance of avoiding what is coming next.

The republican party of the present only shows interests in upholding white supremacy and fighting against regulations that keep the community safe.

All of this. Which is why a lot of former democrats (Reagan, Strom Thurmond etc) switched parties in the 60's. The dems became too liberal (black people and women) for their sensibilities.

Republicans do not believe 98% of the shyt they utter and really there are separate factions of republicanism

There is the wealth groupie sect....who are willing to forego any sense of regulation, safety, moderation, forward thinking in the pursuit of short term wealth creation. And they are willing to cater laws and policy towards this. The housing crisis in America is one of the glaring examples of this. True wealth sycophants.

There is the religious nut job sect...they are variants of endtime cultists who have a very warped view of thinking the world should be moulded to their fascist christian world view. They dont really believe in religious freedom if that religion is something other than some wierdo fundamentalist bullshyt...Again principles dont matter.

There are the racists. They have infiltrated every sect of the Republican Party because really the dog whistle keeps on blowing. They dont actually care about any policy but as long as it can harm non-white people they will grin and bear it. Going against their own interest is more than fine...its just SOP.

There are the conspiracy anti-science nut jobs..nothing too stupid for them not to believe. Paranoia and racism is fertilizer and gasoline. Think that is hyperbole? I am willing to bet someone tries to send up a federal building in ashes again in the next 20 years

I could go on about these other factions but I just mentioned a few to illustrate my point.

These people have no ideals or moral compass.

They are also the people the coli jumped out of their skin to say they identify with the other day, Tariq's angels couldnt wait to wave the pom poms
