Scientists have developed a new system that can identify people using their brain waves or 'brainprint' with 100% accuracy, an advance that may be useful in high-security applications. Researchers at Binghamton University in U.S. recorded the brain activity of 50 people wearing an electroencephalogram (EEG) headset while they looked at a series of 500 images designed specifically to elicit unique responses from person to person -- e.g., a slice of pizza, a boat, or the word "conundrum." They found that participants' brains reacted differently to each image, enough that a computer system was able to identify each volunteer's 'brainprint' with 100% accuracy. "When you take hundreds of these images, where every person is going to feel differently about each individual one, then you can be really accurate in identifying which person it was who looked at them just by their brain activity," said Assistant Professor Sarah Laszlo.

now.. they did it with 50 people. now for all i know there are 300 groups of humans that exist from a brainwave standpoint. and if you're in one of those said groups you will think like others in your group. so it may not be as accurate as we think it is. i need to see the study papers with 10k. then we can start talking about 100% accuracy.

Thought it was going to be "researches can now predict your behaviour100%" :merchant:

This is amazing, but I think it could be easy to beat it

If it analyzes your brain's reaction to an image when you are in a particular state, that means if you are drunk or high, it won't be able to tell if its you, because your reactions would be different then when you were sober. Even being full may give a different result, because you won't see the images the same, as when you are hungry. For example, when you are hungry, your brain is in a more survival mode, so a picture might mean something different then when you are full, which will have you in a more relaxed state, so you won't react the same to the same picture. Hence, you can beat the scan!
