On the one hand, be thankful you have a job.
On the other hand, try to make connections with friends (or anyone, really) who can help you get a job interview someplace better.

And don't necessarily take whatever job pays you the most money.
If ultimately you want to work at a law firm...leaving your retail job to work in landscaping because you'll make an extra $3 per hour isn't going to help you get that law firm job.
So have a plan.

And as far as the worst jobs....ever work in a restaurant?

shyt. I work with multimillion dollar machines and I only get $12 an hour, plus I have to deal with annoying ass people.

i'll never forget the 1st day of work. it was completely unorganized i didnt know what the fukk was going on, so i go to introduce myself to two of the managers there

Me: Hi nice to meet you im gully its my first day and im not sure where im supposed to be right now or whats going on

fat black manager: boy just get to the loading dock. dont ever let anyone here you say you dont know whats going on



old cac manager: yea whatever jsut go pick up some boxes

me:

Anyway, my first night there I'm stocking some shelves, and I'm sitting on this air conditioner (it was in the box) so that I wouldn't have to stand while I was stocking a mid-level shelf. Anyway, this dude who was also in his first week there, says to me:

I work at Walgreens as a stocker. The job is easy but basically it'd like u said. Overworked and underpaid. Imagine working full time (80hrs) and only making 8.25 a hour. That's what there starting ppl with at my store. Most of the time I'm at work I'm like this this can't be my life. I don't see how ppl do retail for 20 to 30 years

nah dishawashing....did it for a month for cheesecake factory while school
humbled me....ever since never got a sub 3.7 GPA

Lol yup that's how it is. You can go past 11 dollars unless ur promoted to shift lead. They make 14.25 and hr. Unless your in or fresh out high school I wouldn't work retail... Well I wouldn't work at walgreens
