A.B. whose real name is Alexander Williams is presume to possibliy being the grandson of Frank Mathews, who was one of the biggest drug dealers the tri-state has ever seen in the 70’s, the mysterious part is that Mathews disappeared after posting a million dollar bail in 1970. Throughout the whole case A.B. was questioned by auothrities in both Baltimore and New Jersey about Frank Mathews and he was quoted as saying” I don’t know him and I want my lawyer”
A.B. was arrested on a New Jersey furgutive warrant in Baltimore late in April 2009. on the day was arrested athourites followed him to a e family house that was found to be own by him where they discovered some 100,000 in cash 35,000 in jewlery and two luxgury cars that amounted to 180,000 in worth. There were no drugs recovered from the house nor his person, but there was a tax issues questioned as to how A.B. can have a house in his name with never had having worked a job a day in his life. A.B’s Attorney Ron Helmer of New Jsrey said that they have nor nevre had any evidence of client, but a wire tap on a co-defendant that lead to an illegal traffic stop of a car that was registered to A.B. undisclosed amount of drugs was found in a secret compartment in the car and A.B was passenger in the car at the time. Upon getting arrested the driving of the car, Craig Johnson 21 of brooklyn N.Y, gave a audio and video tape confession that exonerated A.B. from having any knowledged of the drugs being in the car and that the car was indeed his though it was registered in the legal name of A.B.
On Friday July 10, 2009 the New Jersey state Attorney disclosed to A.B. and his lawyer before taking the plea that the co-defendant Craig Johnson did have knowledge of his phone being tap from a prior open case that he had and though the tap only mentioned A.B. in name, that charges would have never been presued against the Brooklyn Born rapper if the co-defendant would have pleaded out and if his parents did not press the issue to the state attorney that the arrest was bigger than her child. Even with the issues at hand it was said that Ron Helmer assured A.B. that he would beat the charges at trail, but his client insissted on taking the one year plea deal with three years supervised probation.
Upon taking the plea Supreme Court Judge Reed told A.B. that he needs to watch the company he keeps, and when asked if he had anything to say the brooklyn born rapper was qouted as saying “ wars are wonn by patience and persitance, not by aggression or how big your gun is”. There is a clause in the plea that may allow the rapper to be free after six month on house aresst as long as he has a New Jersey residence.
