Ultimately it doesn't matter what era we're in.
If a responsible emcee sees an issue in the culture - he'll show you another world.

De La wasn't feeling what was happening in rap at the time - wild cause the album dropped in 1996 and was probably made in 1995 - which in hindsight everyone regards as a classic year.

They reference "Sean Puffy Combs" in 1996.

Real heads knew Puff did not follow his conscience like De La did - and now his rep is tarnished.

Still the wealth covered his many sins while De La struggled with bullshyt corporate sample laws.

fukking disgusting.

These labels should have shut the fukk up and let De La release their music.

Anyway, I don't want to cause fear. Sorry.

The beats are dope. The rhymes are dope. Common shines. He sounds so happy on his verse and he just made his classic - Resurrection.

The title track is a personal classic of mine.

If someone can answer this - is there a consensus that Stakes is High is a certified hip hop classic in the culture? Not personal but consensus hip hop classic?

Dinninit is how a dope mature, respectable party track should be.

The album must have been alot of work - From my perspective. But they're so talented I bet it all was created so naturally.
