I recognized it in that scene in the first movie, but i thought it was just because she was young.. Just now realizing based on the alternate future in the sequel that she was like that even as a old woman. Makes me wonder why she kept Biff around in the first movie. Was he really just washing cars or was that on call side dikk? She even shaded Marty's marriage at one point, wondering out loud why her daughter in law would marry someone who can't fight.
Probably the whole reason Marty couldn't back down whenever someone called him chicken.
