If you have a great d-line you're getting to a QB regardless of the coverage. In theory if you have two great man corners, you can send extra pass rush because those two guys can lock them up.

But the problem is dummy, that it's easier to get pass rushers than it is to find talented enough man CB's who can hold WR's out on an island for 7 seconds while a QB stands back there looking for someone. Players that can do that are extremely rare. That's why the Seahawks are shopping Sherman and not Cliff Avril. That's why the Panthers didn't pay Josh Normal the money he wanted. That's why the Patriots rarely ever invest big in CB's but always draft/trade for front 7 help.

If Seattle is trying to trade him, that means he's washed.

He defintely lost a step last season and looked scared without Earl but I think this has more to do with his mouth than playing skills. Can't be yelling at coaches on the sideline and taking shots in interviews the way he was last season. And Pete seem like the type to get rid of the problem rather than be a man and tell that nikka to stfu and pay a fine.

It's a tricky thing for the Seahawks. Cause he could easily thrive somewhere for another couple of years in the right scheme with the right team. But if they can get it a first for him then maybe they look strongly at it.
